“Jack The Ripper” in Centurion?

Jack The RipperSerial Killer??

Pretoria police have warned women not to walk alone in open fields around the Olievenhoutsbosch informal settlement and other areas in Centurion. Senior police officials are still investigating the possibility that a serial killer is on the loose. The bodies of at least nine women have been found in Centurion over the past few months.

If you haven’t heard about this over the radio yet, and you are in the Centurion area, please be careful – these people are just merciless killers.

Meanwhile, West Rand police are probing a series of rapes in the Northriding area. A doctor recently raised concerns over a possible rape hot spot near the Northgate shopping centre. He says he personally treated at least six women, all of whom say were attacked in that area.

Its sad to admit, but our country is not a very safe one, and if we don’t look out for ourselves, no one else will.

Freaky Sticky Notes

Lee(14 June 2006)
Yet Again! This weird phenomenon has occured 5 times now – maybe they just have an overload of sticky notes?
Just to show you that I'm not lying – here's the one I got today: (orange)Lee
Original Post:
I found this sticky note now for the 3rd time — On my car — and everytime the same message – same handwriting. Just a different colour paper. My car wasn't even parked @ the same place! In Centurion 2x, and the other time at Johannesburg International Airport? How Bizarre? I haven't phoned, but my curiosity might just force me to. Anyone else got the same message, or know who on earth "Lee" is? Maybe I have a really bad stalker – Who knows? Or maybe Lee is being set up, or … He / She is seriously desperate for someone to phone them. Anyhow. Lemme know if you know anything?

About Bananas

BananaAfter Reading THIS, you’ll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again!
Bananas Containing three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes. But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS: Forget the pills — eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure:This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives. Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a “cooling” fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes: According to research in “The New England Journal of Medicine,” eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, “A banana a day keeps the doctor away!”

The Other Side of Green Tea

Green TeaI found this pretty interesting. Though we know that Green Tea has numerous Health Benefits, I found that there are also a couple of Beauty Benefits…Weight Loss
British supermodel Sophie Dahl's dramatic weight loss has been attributed, in part, to her drinking regular cups of green tea. Sophie followed Body Doctor David Marshall's nutritional advice, which advocates drinking as much toxin-flushing green tea as possible.

Soothing Spritzer
The liquid can be used as a spritzer, to freshen up the face, or cotton pads soaked in it can be particularly soothing for tired or strained eyes. It has antiseptic properties, so can be used to treat minor cuts and rashes, and is surprisingly effective when applied to spots and blemishes. It can even be used as a treatment for sunburn – soak a cloth in the liquid and leave on the skin until the area begins to cool.

The Method: Simply steep 100g of green tea in half a litre of still mineral water at room temperature for at least one hour. Strain the liquor and it's ready to use! It's better to make small quantities and use it fresh but surplus liquid can be poured into clean, sterilised bottles and refrigerated.

Toothpaste
Green tea is also known for its ability to prevent bad breath – and it has the added advantage of tasting good if it's inadvertently swallowed. Try making your own toothpaste to test it out. Pour one cup of boiling water over 100g of Himalayan Green Tea and leave to infuse for at least 30 minutes. Make a paste using this liquid and one teaspoon of baking soda, and use this to brush your teeth as usual. The natural properties in the tea will curb mouth odour and help prevent plaque-forming microbes from attaching to the teeth.

AcneGreen Tea
Green tea also helps to reduce inflammation, hormonal activity and aids in detoxification – which is all good news for acne sufferers. Green tea extract is an extremely versatile herbal supplement – it can be administered topically, often being used in creams, taken as a in the form of a pill or incorporated into your diet and drunk as a tea.

I'm sure there are more benefits than just these I mentioned, so if you have time, leave your Green Tea Benefits in the comments!

Flu

AchooDespite the fact that I take a daily dose of vitamin C and cod liver oil, the flu still got me. I'm at home, and I feel totally miserable. I slept for a couple of hours, but now my muscles are just too sore to stay in bed. I've have some anti oxidant that my Mom gave me, and also a flu mixture but still I feel horrible. I did not go for the flu vaxination, just because I don't know if it really works. Have any of you tried it? And have you been sick yet? I read up about flu earlier, and I found this pretty interesting:
Wash your hands
Flu is passed on by droplet infection. You can contract it if you shake hands with someone who has the virus, sneezed into their hand and you touch your mouth, eyes or nose. So wash your hands often and don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth. Also, don’t sneeze into your hand. Rather sneeze into a tissue, or turn your head away from people near you and sneeze into your elbow.

Recommended Homeopathic Immune Boosters
* Oscillococcinum flu granules are of particular value to people susceptible to flu. They help prevent infection and can also be used to relieve symptoms like aches, pains, fever and chills.
* Echnicea is a herbal medicine that protects and treats while boosting the immune system. Echinecea Forte is an extra-strength version available Dis-Chem.
* Propolis assists the body in reinforcing the immune system, improving resistance to disease, accelerating the healing process and acting as a natural antibiotic.
* Plant Sterols and Sterolins restore and stimulate the functioning of the immune system.
* Zinc lozenges boost the immune system. Use with the first sign of a cold.
* L-Lysine aids in destroying viruses in and around the mouth and prevents cold sores
* Olive Leaf extract is a strong immune booster, with antibiotic and antiviral properties

Gold Reef City!

On Friday the 5th of May I spent the WHOLE day in Gold Reef City, which is an amusement park in Johannesburg, South Africa. I haven't been to Gold Reef City since I was 14 probably – I can't even remember it, so it was looong ago. It was my bf's birthday on the 5th of May, so we decided to do something fun – just the 2 of us. And it was a huge load of fun. The have animals now too – which they didn't before they made all the major changes. But ofcourse you go there for the rides. I haven't been on the anaconda before, and the last time I went to Ratanga Junction (in Cape Town) the Cobra was 'closed for maintanance' —- as they so often are. Suppose it wasn't THAT bad back then – I got try out the Sling Shot THREE TIMES!!! This time Gold Reef City the Anaconda was working, and it was ALOT of fun – though not as scary as I had hoped :/ The Jozi Express was more frightning o_O Anyway, the Tower of Terror was 'closed for enhancements' so that sucked… We did go on the big wheel with the balloon, but I couldn't keep my eyes open – I just realized again how scared I am of hights.
Here ya go with the photo's:

Zuma is a free man

Zuma is free (News24) So Zuma is free (Refer to News24)

Honestly I don’t have an opinion. I just keep wondering what he must feel like. Regardless of whether he really is guilty or not.

Only one question:
Which is better, a guilty person walking on the streets, or

an innocent person locked up for something he didn’t do?

How do you feel about this?

Unite against Terrorism

TerroristThe Leaders of the world are asking for your support to combat terrorism and we are being encouraged to demonstrate against these terrorists this Friday at 15:00 hours. It is a well-known fact that the Taliban are against alcohol consumption and think it is sinful to look at a naked woman.
Therefore, at 15:00 hours this Friday, all women should run naked through the office while men chase them with a beer in their hands. This is the best way to show our disgust for the Taliban and will hopefully help us in detecting the terrorists amongst us, so anybody who does not do as proposed will be deemed a terrorist, denounced to the world and shot.

New Method of Hi-Jacking

(South Africa)

Watch Out!!!

I want to bring a very serious issue under your attention:

This has happened to three Kulula staff members in the last two weeks, on Cedar Road, between Broadacres and Dainfern, heading towards Lanseria Airport.
The hi-jackers throw eggs at your vehicle, hoping that you then slow down and put your wipers on. Once you put your wipers on, you cannot see a thing.

This is just what the hi-jackers want. They stand a few meters away, and once you have pulled over, they attack and take your car. Maybe even your life.

In the event of this happening to you, just keep going. Open your window slightly, put your head out the window for vision, and just keep driving, until you are safe.

PS. Please pass on this message to all you know, it may just save somebody’s LIFE.

My Dream Car

So what if it costs £112,000? Its probably the car with the sleekest design, and with such a smooth silky finish it scores nothing less than @ www.channel4.com. Though this article has been published in 2004, I doubt if it will become outdated any time soon. This car has stolen my knees, and made my heart weak… I absolutely LOVE it. I first saw the review of it on Jeremy Clarkson's TV show, "Top Gear" back in 2003, but ever since, this car has just proven that it is the absolute best looking vehicle EVER. For those of you who don't know it? Its the Aston Martin DB9

Astin Martin DB9

Some things are just so splendid that you cannot use words to describe them properly. The DB9 is one of them. Maybe my vocabulary just sucks, but I'm at a loss for words whenever I look at it.

For those of you who know me, you know I'm not a 'CAR' chick — quite frankly I couldn't give a hoot about the horse power, and the who knows what else, but this… This is not just a CAR, this is a masterpiece. Something that should be left to admire… You'll probably think I'm crazy by now, but this…

THIS is my DREAM CAR…
