Toothpaste Your Pimples!

Toothpaste For what its worth I'm sharing this bit of information with you. I was told that toothpaste works for spots, and for some time I really didn't even bother to try. Until the other day I remembered and gave it a shot, and voila, in less than a day the spot had disappeared. I didn't even squeeze or fidget with it!

Simply squeeze out a pea-sized amount, and gently dab it on the offending spots just before you go to bed. The toothpaste will help dry out the spot and help the skin to heal faster.

I'm sure this doesn't work for everyone, but I thought it was worth giving it a shot!

[I won't recommend that you use this on rash / acne, or any form of irritated skin for that matter]

Mrs. Beckham In The Limelight

Posh SpiceWhile the guys are on about the scores of World Cup Soccer, I'll entertain the non-sporty chicks with some soccer fashion gossip…Posh Spice

According to SUN Woman Online Victoria Beckham [also known as Posh Spice] has been seen wearing the same hot pants for some time now :O – or maybe that's just more than twice, cause you know how the paparazzi can exaggerate? I think Posh looks gorgeous with these hot pants on, and, as long as they're comfy & clean, I can't see a problem with it. Just because she's in the spotlight, doesn't mean she has to wear a brand new outfit each day, right? Instead, to me, it suggests that she's rather confident with herself – and rightly so, I'ld say!! For all we know she liked them so much that she got herself a couple of pairs?

Wednesday

Women
Just a little something to show that I do still remember that I have a blog, and I will post a proper post again – all in due time.
I'm just trying to finish off some stuff at work, which sometimes require a couple of extra hours / day. I'll drop some news here over the weekend though ;)

Quote For The Day

Sweet Ass"Life is all about ass"
You're either covering it,
laughing it off, kicking it,
kissing it, busting it,
trying to get a piece of it,
or behaving like it!

“Why I Was Late For Work”

A guy in St. Louis was driving to work on Highway 144 when he heard a 'pop'. He thought it sounded like a flat tyre, though his ride wasn't affected. After pulling over, checking the tyres and finding them all intact he opened the bonnet to look at the motor. Before the bonnet was even all the way open he jumped back in shock and knocked his head on the partially opened bonnet, unable to believe what his eyes were seeing! Nobody was going to believe this! You sure wouldn't have either!

Fortunately, a work mate with a camera recognised him along side the road and stopped to see if he could help…

Now, this has to be right up there at the top of the list of unusual but verified “Reasons I was late for work!”

Once again, a friend sent me this via e-mail.

Birthday Time

23 Red RosesI’m another YEAR older- I can’t believe how quickly time goes by. Just the other day I turned 21, now I’m 23!! Things seem to change so quickly. I don’t notice how much different my life is, until I take a step back, and analyze everything from a different angle. I’d say my has definitely improved over the past year, and though growth is sometimes painful, difficult situations do still help us grow. I’m a happier and more fulfilled person than what I was last year this time, and I suppose that makes the aging process a little bit more bearable. I have the most awesome boyfriend. I am so thankful for every moment that I spend with him. Sometimes I wish that time would just stand still when we are together, because it passes so quickly. I know I’m getting soppy, so I’ll go on and tell you about something else.

I got 23 red roses!!! How romantic is that?!?!
Soon I’ll post a pic of the roses – just have to take it first ;) Will do that soon though.

I spent my birthday eating cake until I had to lie down, and then I ate some more… Now that I’ve gained 2kg’s I will have to start exercising seriously, just a pity that its such a schlep in winter time.
I know the photo’s quality isn’t great, but at least you can see its roses, and they are red ;)

Cannot Delete File – In Use By Another Programme

So I tried everything to remove this obscure folder from my desktop. I don’t know how it got there in the first place, or who put it there, I just knew I had to get rid of it. I managed to delete all of the files in the folder except for two of them. With the help of someone I tried to delete it through the Cmd Prompt, and then just got an error that the files don’t exist. Finally I googled and found this cute app ( http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread.php?t=18815 ) Its can delete virtually anything!! Sounds a bit stupid now I know, but it was really handy at the time. If you ever have the same trouble, I really recommend it ;)

Humongous Fungus – Largest Living Organism!

FungusPeople have known about the “honey mushroom” for some time, but were not aware of how large and invasive this species of fungus could be. The fungus was investigated more closely by researchers when they realized that it was responsible for killing large groves of evergreen trees. When foresters cut into an infected tree they would find spreading white filaments, mycelia, which draw water and carbohydrates from the tree to feed the fungus. Researchers collected samples of the fungus from a widespread area and analyzed the DNA . A large sample of the specimens they collected turned out to be from a single organism.
Until August of 2000 it was thought that the largest living organism was a fungus of the same species (Armillaria ostoyae) that covered 1,500 acres (600 hectares) found living in the state of Washington. But then mycology experts surmised that if an Armillaria that large could be found in Washington, then perhaps one just as large could be responsible for the trees dying in the Malheur National Forest in the Blue Mountains of eastern Oregon. Researchers were astonished at the sheer magnitude of the find. This most recent find was estimated to cover over 2,200 acres (890 hectares) and be at least 2,400 years old, possibly older.

To go into the forest where this giant makes its home you would not look at it and see a huge, looming mushroom. Armillaria grows and spreads primarily underground and the sheer bulk of this organism lies in the earth, out of sight. Occasionally, during the fall season, this specimen will send up golden-colored “honey mushrooms” (see photo, above left) that are the visible evidence of its hulking mass beneath. Scientists have not yet begun to attempt to estimate the weight of this specimen of Armillaria.
How is it possible for a single fungus to get so big? Scientists who study this species of funges have postulated that the huge size may be a function of the dry climate in eastern Oregon. Spores have a hard time establishing new organisms, making room for the old-timers to spread. Without competition from other specimens this enormous Armillaria has been able to grow and spread unchecked.

And yes, the honey mushrooms are supposedly edible, but apparently not very tasty.
