I Fart Bubbles When You Are Not Here
This morning while driving to work I was listening to a Macy Gray song. To be more specific, its called “I try”. Now you may have heard this song, and I’m sure the tune is familiar to you, but have you ever really listened to the words? Or tried at least. When I was in high school a DJ on 5fm once said he heard the lyrics to be “I Fart Bubbles When You Are Not Here” [though the actual lyrics are "My world crumbles when you are not here"]. Since then those lyrics just stuck in my head. Whenever I hear the song, I have to take a moment and laugh at it all over again. So if you saw someone laughing hysterically in traffic this morning - driving all by herself, there’s some chance that that was me

Watervalboven Weekend Away
For those of you who read my previous post (the protected post), you’ve already read a bit about my weekend away. For those of you who haven’t read the post, you can e-mail me if you want the password. I’m happy to give it to my friends & regular readers - its just not the kind of information I want to share with some of the creeps on the internet.
Well, last weekend we went awayto Watervalboven. We stayed there in a cabin on a trout farm, or lodge - whatever… Though we don’t do trouting, we did go for a 15km hike to a waterfall, which was pretty awesome. The water was clear, like it always is, and also FREEZING cold. I wasn’t brave enough to dip in, but my boyfriend managed to spend a full 5 seconds in the water - 4 diving in, and 1 second, almost walking on the water to get out. I’ve never seen someone get so cold… The whole weekend was just so relaxing - we didn’t have electricity (at least we had running water), so we ended up braaiing & snacking on fruit and stuff. We had to make a fire to heat up our shower water (otherwise known as a donkey). Also the shower & toilet was outside. This was pretty scary as I had to go pee all alone one night. The wind was blowing, and it had just rained earlier, so there were frogs and snails and who knows what else walking & jumping around. With my over-active imagination I also picutured snakes and spiders and who knows what other creature. I actually once saw a bat, in day light!! It was hiding in the logs that made up the wall of the toilet. It looked pretty innocent, but still - not my favourite type of animal. I got some nice photo’s - specially of the Monday morning’s sunrise. Everything was just so clear and clean and amazing.

3 commentsProtected: Going for October 2006
So here’s what’s new. If you normally get e-mails from me, and you haven’t in the past while, I’m really really sorry. Things at work have really taken over my time - even lunch times. Due to our office move I have to leave home earlier (to miss traffic), and I come home quite late. We moved into our new offices a month ago already (I can’t believe it!), and I suppose I have settled in. I already have a new routine: I leave home now @ 6:45am - Its not as good as 7:30am used to be, but at least its not winter anymore, so getting up is a bit easier. I’m suppose to have some photo’s of the office somewhere, so I’ll post them when I find them
Then, as you probably already know, I got my promotion!!! I’ve been appointed as QA Manager, which is something I have been working towards for the past couple of months. Though this hasn’t changed anything really, as I’ve been doing the tasks of a manager since March / April in any case. Its just good to get some recognition for it.
On October 5th we’re having our year end function - already, can you believe it?!?! I need to find a skirt somewhere - but with my fussiness its going to be hard
I want a black silk knee length skirt - but somehow no one is stocking that at the moment, and I don’t really do the whole sewing scene…
At home things are a bit busier than normal - my sister & family are visiting from the US - they moved to Atlanta in Dec. 2005, and came for a 6 week holiday on the 1st of September. This holiday is almost over now, but hey - we still have a bit of time left.
With me and Jaco things are awesome too - we went away last weekend (just the two of us) to Watervalboven. We stayed there in a cabin on a trout farm, or lodge - whatever… Though we don’t do trouting, we did go for a 15km hike to a waterfall, which was pretty awesome. The water was clear, like it always is, and also FREEZING cold. I wasn’t brave enough to dip in, but Jaco managed to spend a full 5 seconds in the water - 4 diving in, and 1 second, almost walking on the water to get out. I’ve never seen someone get so cold… The whole weekend was just so relaxing - we didn’t have electricity (at least we had running water), so we ended up braaiing & snacking on fruit and stuff. I also have some photo’s of this, but its on my flash stick @ work.

Kill The Coffee
Just something that I found while browsing, and found it rather depressing since I love coffee so much. It was worth reading though, as I’ve only had 2 cups of coffee today, instead of the normal 5 - don’t know how long it will last though. What was more interesting to me is the fact that decaf is also bad for you. Also I always knew that caffeine was bad, I never knew the exact symptoms…
If you’re at work right now, look around you. How many people in the office need their coffee fix in the morning? And for their morning “tea” break, and of course after lunch as well. The first fix is so that they can “get going”, the second just revs them up another gear, and the third is to “pick them up” after a sluggish post-lunch feeling. And the day isn’t even over.
So if you’re one of those people, take a look at some alarming facts about coffee that may leave you feeling worse than what you felt like before that first cup.
Caffeine’s addictive properties utilises the same mechanisms as amphetamines, cocaine, and heroin.
- It promotes anxiety, mood swings, irritability, and depression.
- It exhausts the adrenal glands.
- It increases the risk of arterial inflammation and the incidence of heart attacks by some 30%.
And decaf has its own problems:
- Studies prove it raises LDL cholesterol levels
- It promotes fat build up in the liver
And decaf is not nocaf. Each cup contains about 7 mg of caffeine. Have 6 cups a day, and you’re up over 40 mg of caffeine a day.
Most decaf is made using solvents such as methylene chloride, which are poisonous.
And both kinds of coffee:
- Deplete calcium from the body
- Flush out the water soluble vitamins, including vitamin C and most of the B’s
- Cause stomach disorders including acid reflux and ulcers

Paris Gets Pranked!!
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton was left nursing a bruised ego last night after falling victim to an elaborate practical joke set up by Richard Branson at his son’s spectacular 21st birthday party.
Paris had asked if she could come to the Mad Hatter-themed bash dressed as Alice in Wonderland - guaranteeing her a starring role.
But when the Virgin tycoon found out, he secretly ordered that all 60 waitresses at the event should also wear Alice costumes - and he rubbed salt into Paris’s wounds when she arrived by deliberately mistaking her for one of the serving staff and asking her to serve him a drink.
The £150,000 birthday bash for Sam Branson was held at Sir Richard’s Oxfordshire estate.
Dressed as the Mad Hatter, Sam - one of Britain’s most eligible bachelors - welcomed 300 A-list guests. VIPs included Princes William and Harry, Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton, supermodel Kate Moss, Fergie’s daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and Sir Bob Geldof.
Also there was Branson’s 24-year-old daughter Holly, who is training to become a paediatrician. A Virgin insider said: “It was one hell of a party. Paris found herself looking more like Tweedledum as she was surrounded by dozens of other Alices.”
The prank comes in a humbling week for 25-year-old socialite Paris. On Thursday she was arrested in Hollywood for drink-driving and was held in a police cell for almost two hours.

Don’t Fly Me - I’m Gay!
It has been reported that an employee for Ansett Australia (Airlines), who happened to have the last name of Gay, got on a plane recently using the company’s ‘Free Flight’ offer for staff. However, when Mr Gay tried to take his seat, he found it being occupied by a fare paying passenger.
So, not to make a fuss, he simply chose another seat. Unknown to Mr Gay, another Ansett flight at the airport experienced mechanical problems. The passengers of this flight were being re-routed to various other airplanes. A few were put on My Gay’s flight and anyone who was holding a “free” ticket was being “bumped”. Ansett officials, armed with a list of these “freebee” ticket holders boarded the plane, as is the practice, to remove them in favor of fare paying passengers. Of course, our Mr Gay was not sitting in his assigned seat as you may remember. So when the Ticket Agent approached the seat where Mr Gay was supposed to be sitting, she asked a startled customer: “Are you gay?”. The man, shyly nodded that he was, at which point she demanded: “Then you have to get off the plane.” Mr Gay, overhearing what the Agent had said, tried to clear up the situation” You’ve got the wrong man. I’m Gay!” This caused an angry third passenger t yell “Hell! I’m gay too! They can’t kick us all off!” Confusion reined as more and more passengers began yelling that Ansett had no right to remove gays from their flights.
It is reported that Ansett have refused to comment on the incident.

Faith
One of the most important things. FAITH. In who I am. Who I want to be. And where I want to go. The ability to achieve my dreams. To believe enough to make them come true. I have amazing people who encourage me. People who stand by me when I want to give up. People who taught me to believe when my heart wanted to give up on my dreams. I have been through some interesting things in the past year, and when I look back now I am proud of where I am - though I haven’t done it alone! I have made it to a senior position within the company that I’ve been working for for the past 2 years. Also my mind is finally made up. My heart is set on the one person that I have loved for a very long time. I have chosen to work out things, to give my heart again, and to fall in love all over. I think I should buy a bottle of champagne to celebrate it all. To celebrate life, and love. I am more happy than I have ever been. Things are finally starting to come together, and it feels good. For those of you who keep contact with me - I appreciate your letters and chats. Without the people around me, I wouldn’t be where I am today. If you are aiming to for a dream, don’t give up. Give it everything you have - LIVE your dream.
