Shopping

HltonsWe went shopping at Menlyn Park on Sunday. Though I didn’t buy anything interesting, I enjoyed it a lot. While in a shoe shop, there was an old guy asking the shop attendant for a “Paris Hilton Handbag”. “You know, a clutchbag?” he said. The shop attendant just stared at him at first, and then shook her head. I don’t know if she maybe didn’t know who Paris Hilton was, or if she couldn’t believe that a gray old fat man was looking for a Paris Hilton Clutchbag… LOL. I couldn’t keep myself from giggling… The whole picture was just too funny…

After walking through the entire mall, fitting on 243 outfits, and buying only a new battery for my watch & some deoderant, we finally had lunch at Baobab’s.

I Found Nemo!

Finding Nemo - We Found Him!Whoohoo!!! I found Nemo – in an e-mail this morning…LOL
I thought this was such a cute pic, and just had to share it.  Other than looking for Nemo, my week has been filled mostly with work.

Last night I scrubbed my thighs & buttocks with Cayenne pepper & Ginger scrub, which made me feel like I was burning alive.  It was like having sunburn on my arse, which, by the way, hasn’t  seen sun since I was a little girl.

Today I feel brave enough to try it again, but decided to post first as its hard to sit on my flaming arse.
I’ll read in bed after the scrub – not so much pressure, and I can turn onto my stomach if it really gets bad.

I’ll post something more substantial again soon – depending what my work looks like. Till then, good night, and keep well :D

Have You Heard About LifeGem?

This morning I heard something WEIRD on the radio, and was really intrigued in the story, so I googled for it. Personally I think this is disgusting. But I suppose people have diffferent ways of dealing with the death of a loved one, of which this is one I suppose.

What is LifeGem? Its a company which makes diamonds from the cremated remains of humans.
After a person has been cremated they put the ashes under pressure for a certain period of time, and voila, you have a diamond.

Here’s their version of what and who they are:
“The LifeGem® is a certified, high-quality diamond created from the carbon of your loved one… as a memorial to their unique life. As a symbol of your personal and precious bond.”

To me this is a little disturbing… Maybe I’m just very conventional? Somethings just soooo eerie about it…

Pass On E-mails

Pass-on e-mails make me wanna...Somehow I became the victim of pass-on e-mails… I don’t know how this happened, but some people in my address book think that I need alot of luck and money. I get this continuous stream of mails claiming something ridiculous, like “If you do not pass this message on to 50 people within the next 3 seconds, no one will ever love you again”. [What's up with that?] Or “If you forward this e-mail to 100 people Bill Gates will send you a cheque for $5″ Why do people write these mails? And who forwards it?? Who actually believes that the richest man in the United States [and the world for that matter] is going to take the time to write out cheques for the idiots who actually spend their time reading & forwarding this nonsense?

I’ve also been getting “Angel” e-mails. These seem to contain horrible pixelated images of kitch angels or fairies sprinkling their “magic dust” on you for good luck. Magic Dust, err… I had that when I was 5, but now? Gosh – WAKE UP!!! This is the REAL WORLD?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??

Maybe I will one day be so irritated that I will write a snotty reply to those people. For now I pity them; in their stupidity.

Why I Do It

Not too lateApart from the facts that I’ve always wanted to write, and be famous [haha], blogging is really a dream come true for me. Not only because I have an awesome audience, but because finally there is a way I can order and remember events in my life.

More importantly, the emotions that went with it. When I read some of my older posts, I’m proud of myself. For posting even when things went rough, and for venting my anger or frustration, instead of letting it build up.

According Wayne Hurlbert, blogging builds self esteem too. Now I don’t really had / have a problem with that, but its always good to be confident in who we are. I’m thinking more about what I do, why I do it, and how. I think about things that are said on the radio – way more thoroughly than what I used to. On the other hand you may consider me a blog addict. Before I fall asleep at night, I think about what I can write, and how. I know its pretty dumb, but hey, its those involuntary type thoughts, so there’s not much I can do about it? :P

Anyhow, I survive weekends without blogging, and I have enough “real life” friends – that means I’m safe, yes?

Who Are You?

SpySomething that’s been puzzling me for the past while, is who exactly reads my blog. Since I’m with Wordpress, I cannot use Google Analytics to check where all my visitors are from. On my other sites, I’ve setup Google Analytics, and its quite cool to see how small the world actually is. I’ve tried to figure out who would be interested in my blog; here’s my conclusion…

Firstly there’s the googlers - these are people that come across something that was posted either via google, or some other search engine. A lot of times these people don’t stay long, they either find what they were looking for, or they don’t.

Then there are the guys from the trafficking sites, such as BlogMad & 25 Peeps – once again, these will know within the first 8 seconds whether they like your blog or not. Some will stick around, and some will even return, but the majority seem to just browse past in their daily pursuit of credits.

People who you know read your blog. Whether they be friends, or just contacts from the net. These people probably have a blog of their own that you read too.

Lastly there are the snoops. These are the people that you KNOW. Your family, your friends, and even sometimes your co-workers. But you don’t know that they are reading your blog. They’re probably looking for something that you’ve leaked out onto your blog that they don’t know about yet. These people never leave comments, and would never admit to even knowing that you have a blog. I find it quite amusing to think that I’m being spied on… Just wonder if they find what they’re looking for.

If I’m missing a category, please feel free to correct me. Otherwise let me know which of these you are… If you have the guts!

eXlinks!

exlinksSo we’ve all been wondering what the buzz is about? Why are there banners and ads on every second blog? What is eXlinks, and why do we need to sign up for it? Some have been so curious to go and snoop around on the site! The Kinetiq team has decided to release some screenshots for a sneak preview.

What is eXlinks about? eXlinks is the ultimate exponential link-swapping, site exploding system, and its completely free!!”

I know that doesn’t say much, but they want to keep it all a surprize. Besides, if this is anything like BlogMad, its definately worth your attention!! If you sign up now, in the prelaunch stage, you’ll get some cool benefits. So what are you waiting for?!?!
I must say that I’m really impressed (Once again) with the Kinetiq team. They’ve been working incredibly hard, and somehow everytime they do something it turns out a huge success. So far we don’t know about 90% of the functionality of eXlinks, but the screenshots look extremely promising…

As you can see, this is the login screen for eXlinks
eXlinks - Login

And the eXlinks control panel
eXlinks - Control Panel

Stay tuned for more sneak peaks – I’ll share with you as soon as I can…

Making Memories

After I finished reading “A thousand tomorrows” by Karen Kingsbury, a book that I’ve been busy with for some time now, I realized once again how important it is to make memories. The people who we love most might not be in our lives forever, and therefore we must make the best of the time we have.

This book is about two people who learnt to love the way some people only dream about. The kind of love that never gives up, and never loses hope… Even right till the end.

A beautiful love story that will inspire each person who reads it.

Curious? Read the first chapter of “A Thousand Tomorrows”
