Guess What??
We’re going on the second quarter of this year!!! Good heavens, time really does fly! What do you think about the green? Is it any better than the blue? I know there’s a couple of adjustments that I still need to do, but I don’t have time at the moment. Things are a bit hectic at work - I have a lot of things to finish before I go on leave

Human Rights Day
Yesterday was good - but having a holiday in the middle of the week like that really throws me off. Usually I have my week kind of planned, but this week things are just upside down. I didn’t do anything much, went to visit my sister, which was really nice, but then I had to head home again, and get ready for today. This morning when my alarm went off, I really didn’t feel like getting up. But here I am, after a long and exhausting day, and I’m almost heading home again.
I’m going to go to bed early again tonight - I’ve been trying to do that lately, since I had trouble sleeping. I figured that an early sleeping routine might help, but still no luck. I’m hoping to finally fall asleep tonight. Most nights I just lay in bed thinking. About nothing really. Sometimes the biggest load of nonsense, but still, I think about it.
Hope those of you who had a day off enjoyed it, I still can’t wait for FRIDAY tomorrow though!!!

Office Gossip
Pretending that none of us gossip is a farce. We all do it. Which of the gossip roles have you adopted? Are you “THE Office Gossip”, or the one who everyone gossips about? Do you like the gossip, and the occasional (sometimes regular) juicy stories that go around - do you help spread them, and add your own bits? Or are you the “goodie-two-shoes” who try to stop all grapevine activities that come your way - and even those that don’t come your way?
Chances are, if you’re the office gossip, people also gossip about you, and say what a lousy person you are for gossip so much. On the other hand, if you’re the non-gossiping type, you won’t hear most of the stories, as people know how you feel about that sort of thing.
If I had to categorize myself? I’m a curious person, and therefore hear occasional rumors [Which I sometimes wish I hadn't] - however, since I’ve had to deal with the awkwardness of a co worker spreading stories about myself, I ask myself how I would feel if they were talking about me. I remind myself as often as I can to look for the good in a person. We all have mistakes, and by talking bad about someone else, indirectly I’m saying that I’m better than them.
One of the most important virutes in a relationship is respect. By gossiping about people you’re definitely NOT respecting them. I know it important for me that people respect me as a person, and I think its one of the least things that we can do for our co workers.
Its best not to listen to all the things that go around - those rumors build up preset ideas about people, which most of the time, are not true.
Badmouthing people doesn’t go down well with anyone, friends or fellow employees. Apart from it being very lousy, you need to remember not to burn your bridges. The person you’re gossiping about might just be your superior in a year’s time!
Besides that, every single person deserves to be treated with respect.

How To Mummify
I was listening to the radio this morning when they mentioned the mummification process. I’ve always been intrigued by mummies - the eeriness of it all. Whilst being in London I visited the British Museum’s “Ancient Egypt” section which was absolutely amazing. Mummified humans, cats, and even alligators. And though I knew bits about mummification (from the History Geographic channel - lol), I never knew (and still don’t know) the full extent of it all.
I heard the steps on the radio, and looked it up on Wikipedia again tonight, here’s how Egyptian mummies were made - is gross, but very interesting.
Embalming
The body is washed with palm wine.
The body is rinsed with water from the Nile River.
A small cut is made in the left side of the body.
The internal organs which are the liver, lungs, small intestines, and large intestines, are removed.
The brains are removed. A long hook inserted through the nose will pull the brains out. (The Egyptians did not know what the brain was for, so they removed it.)
The body is covered and stuffed with natron. This is known as the drying stage.
Wait forty days for the body to dry.
The body will be washed with water from the Nile River.
The body is covered with sweet smelling oils.
The body is stuffed with dry things, such as sawdust, leaves, and linen.
The body is covered with more oils.
The internal organs are put into the canopic jars.
Wrapping
The head and neck are wrapped. The fingers and toes are wrapped.
The arms and legs are wrapped.
The sacred amulets are placed. The Isis knot, and the Plummet.
The spells from the book of the dead are read.
The arms and legs are tied together.
A scroll is placed between the hands of the deceased.

I’ve got a passion for cutting. Cutting paper specifically.
Strange that I can cut out better pictures than what I can draw, though these images are way beyond what I could dream of cutting.
I found the pictures below whilst stumbling, and thought them worth sharing.
Makes me miss the times when I felt that everything worthwhile could be cut from a piece of paper.

Chat slang can be such a nuisance, but at the same time so convenient. I know in school there were cliques, but while type-chatting with someone on Skype (or whatever other IM program you use), one can easily tell if a person is part of the internet junky club, or someone who still refers to java when they talk about their favourite coffee, or mention the word blog with a weird expression on their face (like its some sort of conspiracy?)
Most people I know still think that there has to be something wrong with “bloggers“. They tend to steer clear of me if they hear that “blog“…. Note, each time they pronounce the word “blog” their eyes go a bit bigger, and they stretch out the “o” sound just a bit longer than necessary… If you’re one of THOSE people and you’re reading this, you might just as well join in and blog. If you’re here, reading this, and you know me, then you probably like the idea of someone spilling all their guts online, or maybe you’re just curious to find out more about my thoughts. Either way, you’ll feel much better if you start “sharing” - like an AA meeting, you know?
