If I think of twisting balloons, I think of it as entertainment for little kids, but these photos taken at a “Balloon Fashion Show” in China illustrate how far it has come as an art form.
Some are amazingly imaginative and detailed!
These “designers” are pretty good at what they do! Still, I’m not sure if I would risk wearing such a fragile costume

While I was not there, I actually know the entire ensemble of artists that helped create the Shanghai Fashion Show. Several of them are close personal friends of mine. One of those artists and I will be creating balloon fashions for the Univision program Sabado Gigante later this week (3/27). PS – Balloon fashions don’t create the static charge you’d think they do
But, yes, the models do avoid sharp objects at all costs.
