In my line of work, its quite important to see well. One of the downsides though is that sitting in front of a computer screen eight hours a day does NOT really do my eyes any good. I need to go for an eye test soon, and I suspect I might have to get prescription glasses. Glasses are such a schlep, and sometimes really uncomfortable, but my eyes are way to dry for contact lenses. *sigh* I know I should just go… but really. I just can’t get myself so far. I found Great Discovry:$ 8 Prescription Glasses From Zenni Optical, maybe those will be easier!

The Easter Bunny, Clowns And Lots Of Make Up AKA Good Old Times
I’ve been thinking back tonight. Waaay back. When I was still playing with my nephews. Dressing them up as clowns and the easter bunny. I suppose I was probably the meanest (and most fun) aunt anyone could ever ask for
I have three nephews who are very close in age. The oldest two are only 7 years younger than me, and strangely enough, we played together like brothers and sister. I made them dress up, put make up on them to make them look like clowns, and play all kinds of games. We pretended to be a circus, and did all kinds of shows with tricks and what not (sometimes trying to include my cat, but I don’t remember that ever being successful).
I made them play school with me being the teacher. Still they loved it, as did I. I remember one time specifically I dressed my one nephew as the easter bunny. Complete with purple and white striped socks that went up all the way to his thigh. As if that wasn’t enough, he also got stocking over his head – the legs stuffed with whatever I could find to make them look like ears. And make up smeared over the stocking part that covered his face. The funniest of all this was that the other two nephews actually believed it was the easter bunny!!
When we talk about it now they still tell me what a horrible aunt I was, but its all in good humor. Its such fond memories for me. I wish we could’ve had photo’s of those times! The older two are turning 18 this year, and the younger one 16. One of the older ones is writing is SAT’s end of January, and he’s already got his driver’s license too. It seems so strange – a lifetime ago. Here they are starting their lives on their own, and I’m getting married. Its a pity we live so far apart – I wish we could spend more time together. I’m still thankful for the family members that are around, but I can’t help to miss them. At least one of the nephews is still around, and we see each other quite regularly – we get along really well. Just strange how things change without us noticing. All of a sudden when you wipe your eyes out, everyones around you has grown up, and you’ve grown old.
My Green Wedding
I’m going to drive you crazy these next two months. I’m counting the days till our wedding, and today is exactly 2 months. There are still so many things that need to be done, but in the end it will all work out well, right? Right.
I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by so far. Though we have done a lot as well, it seems there’s still a mountain in front of us. We’ve completed the invites, some have even been sent out. We’ve completed the table overlays, and the top of my dress is finished (and BEAUTIFUL).
The colour I have chosen is green. Its a strange kind of almost lime green, but a bit less bright, and a bit more rich… I will scan a piece in to show you.
The invites are also a white & green combination, which I absolutely love. As you can probably tell, I love green. Its just so ‘alive’. We’re combining it with white – a lot of white! White roses, white chair covers and white table cloths.
I never imagined that planning a wedding could be so much work, but here I am, discovering it all for myself! Tomorrow evening I’m going to have my trial make up, and I’m really excited about it! Hold thumbs that I like it
For now, I gotta get my mind of wedding stuff, and remember that I’m still trying to have a normal life

What Is Freedom?
For some freedom is being able to choose their religion freely, and not worry about meeting with fellow believers in secret. For others its living without fearing for their lives. For more even it is to get up each morning and know that they’re healthy. For me its all of these things, but also knowing that I am loved. A lot of people might disagree and say that marriage is not freedom at all, and that its like signing a contract into eternal damnation, but for me – its freedom. Freedom to know that someone loves me completely for who I am. Doesn’t matter that I’m not perfect, still I’m good enough.
For us together there are various forms of freedom that we strive for – one of those is buying a house of our own. We might just have have found a nice flat – and I am sooo excited. I cannot wait to find out if we’ve finally found a home… *sigh*
Only 2 months and 2 days, then I’m MARRIED!!!
Sitting On The Lawn
Yesterday we went to have another look at the wedding venue. This time of the year its beautiful – green, and so alive. I guess that is why I loved the place so much in the first place – I love green. In nature, and otherwise.
Its been raining over the weekend, and as I’m usually in a DVD mood when it rains, we decided to watch Prison Break. I hadn’t even seen the end of
the 2nd season, so we had quite a few episodes to watch – up until the 8th episode of season three. And now we wait. In anticitipation. I was just really disappointed that Sarah died. Its such an anti-climax, but I suppose happy endings are boring?
And now all I have left is the last week of work for 2007 – the years go faster each time round. Its simply amazing, and scary. We get to make New Year’s resolutions, and before we know it there’s another new year, only to make more resolutions?! LOL.
I’m really looking forward to the holidays though – I can hardly wait! I need to spend some time making invites for the wedding, so I suppose all my time and efforts will go into that. The dress fabric is nearly bought, and the pattern is already cut out. Its sooo exciting!! I have to get ready for my day now, but I will be back later, or maybe tomorrow
Have a good week!
