Vote 4 ME!!!
Hey you all… Just popped in to say hi, and that I’m on BloggersChoiceAwards - So please vote for me!
As you will see, the button is already there on your top left hand side (had to think for a moment which side <- that is…)
I’ve been trying hard to get back to everyone who has ever commented on my site, and was surprised to see how many of those blogs don’t exist any more.
You might have noticed that I’ cleared my blogroll too - removed some of the old and dead links. If you’d like to be on my blogroll however, please contact me by leaving a comment or e-mailing me.
Please note however that I do reserve the right to deny adding your blog due to lack of updates, obscene material, abusive advertisements, or any other offensive material which I do not wish to promote.
7 commentsNew Kids On The Blog
I’ve been going through the wordpress blogs today. Some are incredibly boring and don’t sometimes even make sense. Others are quite good. Most don’t have any comments at all. On any of their posts, and yet they still keep posting! I feel sorry for those. Those that put in so much effort, just to find that no one has discovered them yet.
I remember when I first started (I started because I joined BlogMad, and didn’t have a decent blog), there wasn’t a lot of visitors, and often I’d get discouraged. There are still a couple of my favourite posts from when I started which didn’t get much attention. For those of you who’ve been blogging a while, keep it coming. One day someone like me will find your blog, and leave you your very first comment. For those of you who are so comfortably settled in your blogging clique, make an effort to welcome the new ones. They’re putting in a lot of effort, and there are a couple of promising blogs out there!
Below I’ve made screenshots of five “new” blogs which I found pretty cool. If you have the time, visit them, otherwise you can go and find your own new blogs
Whatever you decide, remember to be kind to the new kids on the blog
If you are new, and you’d like to get more traffic to your blog, visit BlogMad for more information on increasing your traffic for free.
9 commentsSweet Stats
Isn’t it nice when you log into your blog account, and your stats have gone through the roof?
When you open your e-mails, and you have a load of comments on your latest post. It makes me feel so… appreciated? Like what I’ve written really meant something to someone. Made them laugh, think, or just felt that they could relate. That I’m not the only crazy fool who sings in the car on my way to work. Simple things like that are amazing. Though I feel appreciated in other ways in my life, this is where I get that warm fuzzy feeling about my own writing. I’m not the best, but I LOVE writing.
I tend write about things that I find interesting, and its been so cool to find people who share these interests. Thank you for you pop-ins, and nice comments.
When I’m out of things to write, its very motivating to know that there are people out there who check on my blog, and I have a responsibility to update it - I know I’m not always great at it, but at least when I do post, I enjoy it
Introducing 2000 Bloggers
This is something I came across on Tisha’s blog. I found it rather cute, and decided to add my own photo too.
Tino came up with this fabulous idea of making a collage of bloggers’ photo’s. You can have your photo added too, with a link to your site! Its free, and the only two conditions he has is that your blog has to have been created before the 1st of January 2007, and that there is a photo of yourself on your blog.
This quite neat, swapping out traffic by clicking pics - same idea as 25peeps, you just don’t get kicked off!! Great isn’t it?
For the complete list of the photo’s, updated today, check my 2000 Bloggers page. If you look really closely you might find me!!
Note that it might take a long time to load if you have a dial-up connection, as it has quite a few images
But here’s a snippet of what it looks like… ( with me enlarged

Who Are You?
Something that’s been puzzling me for the past while, is who exactly reads my blog. Since I’m with Wordpress, I cannot use Google Analytics to check where all my visitors are from. On my other sites, I’ve setup Google Analytics, and its quite cool to see how small the world actually is. I’ve tried to figure out who would be interested in my blog; here’s my conclusion…
Firstly there’s the googlers - these are people that come across something that was posted either via google, or some other search engine. A lot of times these people don’t stay long, they either find what they were looking for, or they don’t.
Then there are the guys from the trafficking sites, such as BlogMad & 25 Peeps - once again, these will know within the first 8 seconds whether they like your blog or not. Some will stick around, and some will even return, but the majority seem to just browse past in their daily pursuit of credits.
People who you know read your blog. Whether they be friends, or just contacts from the net. These people probably have a blog of their own that you read too.
Lastly there are the snoops. These are the people that you KNOW. Your family, your friends, and even sometimes your co-workers. But you don’t know that they are reading your blog. They’re probably looking for something that you’ve leaked out onto your blog that they don’t know about yet. These people never leave comments, and would never admit to even knowing that you have a blog. I find it quite amusing to think that I’m being spied on… Just wonder if they find what they’re looking for.
If I’m missing a category, please feel free to correct me. Otherwise let me know which of these you are… If you have the guts!
