I also thought they were edited, but this is what I found when I searched flickr for ‘mammatus’ http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=mammatus&w=all

And also I googled for it, and found quite a collection of images.

Lastly I found the same pictures on this website of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/nebraska/june2004hastings-mammatus.html

This has kind of proven to me that they are not edited. He must’ve used a real good camera though

Amazing photos. I have seen some similar clouds myself, before a storm last summer. You can check the photo out if you’re interested.

Anyway, those are breathtaking images. It’s amazing the art the nature can give us.

Those clouds are just… breathtaking. I’ve never seen such unique looking clouds. I thought I’ve seen some different kinds, but wow. That’s amazing.
