It really takes effort to talk to people and have them believe your voice that you're not just trying to get them off the phone. Tone speaks volumes when it comes to telephone conversations. I understand about the work being so far away factor. When I lived in Los Angeles, I had to drive up to 3 hours to get to work. And that was one way. I spent a lot of time in the car in those days.
