Knowing that they are cheating the workers out of their pay and basically are enslaving them to build this “Babylon the Great” shows the character of the people with the money. Whenever I think of this place Dubai I think that someone will drop a nuke on it someday because it’s an abomination. I know that sounds too strong but why do I feel animosity towards it besides they that have billions upon billions of dollars have to rip off the workers? Is it in order to feel superior? Then hurry up with the nuke somebody.

Not to post anything controversial or anything, but for some reason I feel a little cheated. I feel like this money could be better spent elsewhere, and yeah, of course MOST money could be spent better, right? But come on, Dubai. Maybe the world would be a better place if we spent money on education, health services,etc. in the Middle East instead of hotels. You know? But hey, I could just be an insufferable idealist D;

This is not a place to celebrate. This is where all of the money that has been skimmed off the top of every company around the world has landed. When we go up in financial flames the wealthy will head to Dubai and we will be stuck here. Have you noticed that they do not advertise this place as vacation destination because they do not want you there, it was not made for you. They also have the largest building that houses snow for indoor skiing. Just one of the many amenities for the filthy rich.

wow, thats amazing! this is the first time for me to hear about this fountain!
When I read this post I laughed since I live in Kuwait which is near Dubai and I didnt know about this info while u who were from South Africa knew about it, what a strange world!
