My parents are selling theirs to get a slightly larger house as my sister and her family live there, too, and houses in Southern California aren&#039;t cheap.  They&#039;re looking in the $475,000 price range, which is moderate for Southern California right now.  Not sure how that compares with prices there, I know nothing about the exchange rate. But yeah, houses are a great investment, but they also tie you to one place for a long, long time.  It&#039;s a bit scary!</description>
