The Big Bang

2007So this morning I started work again. I’m trying to get organized – not just jump in and start with the first stack of files on my desk. I even got myself a proper diary yesterday, which will hopefully help me to organize my thoughts and plans. The office is way too quiet, and half the staff are still on leave – unfair!!! If I had thought about it, I’d have taken leave for this week as well, but right then I couldn’t see past Christmas :(
At least now I have a couple of extra days which I can take during the year, but who wants to do that if you can spend the beginning of January lazing around the house? :P
This week I’ll attempt to get everything up to date – all the paperwork which I didn’t finish last year. Its not a lot, but left undone for a while, it might turn into heaps of haunting junk.
My holiday was a blast. New Year’s Eve was really special. But my first day of work for 2007 is less profound than I could’ve wished for. No big “Welcome Back” signs in my office. No cheers or even slightly “Glad to see you’re back” smiles. Nothing. I suppose that’s work, and I should be happy that no one came to welcome me back with a stack of files under their arm, but heck, a little appreciation would feel nice. Just a “Happy New Year to you too” would do… LOL

I’m really glad that I have good friends, and a loving family, cause there ain’t no warm feelings at work! People are probably just so busy being miserable themselves, that they don’t realize there are people out there. Or maybe they all still hate me for the blue milk… :P

Thank you Adrian
Yes, at least I live in South Africa, where up till today, half our staff haven’t returned from their December holidays… Nice isn’t it?

Work has a tendency to make people miserable like that…there isn’t much cheer at my work either.
