I heard the story on the radio this morning, and thought that I might have heard wrong, but surely this morning, when I checked the net, there it was on The Press Association: Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment.
“Brokeback Mountain actor Heath Ledger has been found dead with sleeping pills near his naked body in his New York apartment.
Ledger, 28, was found after a possible drug-related death in his central Manhattan apartment on Tuesday, New York police department spokesman Paul Browne said.
The Australian-born actor’s body was discovered by his housekeeper at around 3.30pm local time after she went to let him know a masseuse had arrived for an appointment, Mr Browne said.”
I never watched brokeback mountain, but I remember him better for his role in A Knight’s Tale. This is such sad news, specially since he was still so young, and he had a young daughter. I suppose there are some hollywooders for whom the burden just gets too heavy… Still they don’t know if this was an accidental overdose, or intended.
May he rest in peace anyhow.

I never saw Brokeback Mountain and I probably never will but I haven’t seen A Knight’s Tale either. That I might watch. I remember him in 10 Things I Hate About You. It’s just a shame that it all comes down to overdosing on pills.
