The Greenest Green
Just some pics I took, close to my hometown in the Freestate, over the past weekend.
It rained a lot lately, and everything is just sooo green!!!

Thanks for sharing! It’s interesting to see other places, but what I found more interesting is how much this place pictured looks like Central Texas, where I live.
The sky reminds me a lot of traveling through the midwest United States. gorgeous.
Love the Cactus Flower!
Beautiful photos, Dee. What is that coiled up thing in the last picture?
Thank you all
Kristyn, it is strange that it looks a lot like Texas… But South African has such a load of different climates, that our country looks a lot like different places.
Heza, the last picture is that of a shongololo - I suppose that’s a native word, but its a type of worm (a millipede to be specific) - its said have a thousand feet (in Afrikaans we call it a duisend poot) - but it doesn’t really of course. Just a lot of tiny little feet, that really tickle when you let it walk on your hand.
Cool pics. Especially the horse pic. Makes me want to just buy a farm… (I wish!) Shongololo! Haven’t seen one of them in ages. Brings back fond memories of when I was a child. (No! We didn’t kill it. Just loved to see them curl up when you touch them.
