For those of you who read my previous post (the protected post), you’ve already read a bit about my weekend away. For those of you who haven’t read the post, you can e-mail me if you want the password. I’m happy to give it to my friends & regular readers – its just not the kind of information I want to share with some of the creeps on the internet.
Well, last weekend we went awayto Watervalboven. We stayed there in a cabin on a trout farm, or lodge – whatever… Though we don’t do trouting, we did go for a 15km hike to a waterfall, which was pretty awesome. The water was clear, like it always is, and also FREEZING cold. I wasn’t brave enough to dip in, but my boyfriend managed to spend a full 5 seconds in the water – 4 diving in, and 1 second, almost walking on the water to get out. I’ve never seen someone get so cold… The whole weekend was just so relaxing – we didn’t have electricity (at least we had running water), so we ended up braaiing & snacking on fruit and stuff. We had to make a fire to heat up our shower water (otherwise known as a donkey). Also the shower & toilet was outside. This was pretty scary as I had to go pee all alone one night. The wind was blowing, and it had just rained earlier, so there were frogs and snails and who knows what else walking & jumping around. With my over-active imagination I also picutured snakes and spiders and who knows what other creature. I actually once saw a bat, in day light!! It was hiding in the logs that made up the wall of the toilet. It looked pretty innocent, but still – not my favourite type of animal. I got some nice photo’s – specially of the Monday morning’s sunrise. Everything was just so clear and clean and amazing.
To see the full set of photo’s visit my Flickr “Holiday Photo’s” You’ll see that I’ve created a new account with Flickr as my other one is full, and I don’t want to upgrade.

I’m not a creep…nor a regular reader so I missed out on the protected post. But I’ve p[opped in here several times through blogmad and figured it’s time I left a comment…even as lame as it is.
Wow! Sounds like a really great hike, and lovely photos! Those flowers look a bit different then the ones on my hike in Norway!
I love the sunset and the reflection
