Instead of giving a lengthy update of what I have been up to lately, and why haven’t posted for such a long time, here are a couple of random photos which I took on the run.

Only In Africa; Part #2

As promised here is another set of photos – not sure where they were taken, but I am suspecting it may have been taken in the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve, where you can go and view the Lions being fed.

Only In Africa; Part #1

I have decided to do a couple of posts under the title of “Only in Africa”. I have quite a collection of photographs & funny facts to share.
This being the first post, here are two photos which shows a hippo on someone’s patio, sleeping with his head on the wicker couch. Now this would not happen just anywhere in South Africa, contrary to the belief of some. We are a bit more civilized in the cities, and don’t have hippos walking around. Though I don’t know the origin of these photos they were most likely taken on a lodge, or a game farm.

5 Minutes To Spare? Here Are 5 Ways To Spend It!

Here are a few interesting sites to visit if you have 5 minutes to spare…

Photofunia
This interesting website will allow you to choose from several templates to insert your photo’s

Etsy
Buy & sell all things handmade, and if you prefer searching for items by color, the “Shop by Color” page is fantastic.

DeviantArt
If you’re looking for any type of image, you will most likely find it here. I love the wallpapers here.

Lost In Translation
A website which translates through different languages, and definitely proves how context is completely lost from one language to the next. I tested this with a simple phrase “My boss sucks” (suggested by a co-worker, not myself :D , and after translating through other languages and back to English, it came out as “My proprietor absorbs” – hehe.  Definitely worth a try.

5 Minute Game
Miniclip offers a wide variety of games to pass the time.  There’s a whole section with all the “5-Minute Games” which you can try out!

Carpet Of Begonias In Brussels

Every two years people can admire the carpet of flowers on the Grand Place in Brussels . This year, 700,000 begonias form the largest tapestry of a Savonnerie carpet in the world: a tribute to the French presidency of the European Union.

Since 1971, it is the 16th carpet of flowers on the Grand Place in Brussels . In recent years, the flower carpet has become one of the biggest attractions of Brussels . This year, the flower carpet designed by floral architect Mark Schautteet is inspired by the tapestry of the French Savonnerie, which dates from the 17th century. 700,000 begonias form a colourfum motif on which appears the patron saint Saint-Michel and the iris of the Brussels Region. One hundred volunteers have brought flowers on the Grand Place. For the floral carpet of flowers to be perfect, the design is fully represented in size on a transparent plastic perforated to create a micro-humid climate which must keep flowers fresh and colorful. The official opening will be accompanied by music created specially for the occasion by the composer Gregory Dune.

I would even consider taking a holiday in Brussels just to see this amazing floral expo – if only the flights were cheaper!

If Life Gives You Lemons, Organize A Festival?

The annual Lemon Festival also known as “Fête du Citron” in Menton, a town located on the coast of the French-Italian border, built these amazing statues made out of citrus fruits. Made completely out of LEMONS,ORANGES, GRAPEFRUITS, AND LIMES. This is quite something even on photo’s, I can’t imagine what it must be like in real life – imagine the flavors in the air?!

Everyone’s Doing It In Green

Green is the colour of the season!! Today I saw a pic on Women24 showing three celebs with GREEN on the red carpet – they’re all following my lead! Haha…

Green Celebrity Dresses

The dress in the middle, which Drew Barrymore is wearing, is the colour that I have chosen for our wedding, its the colour of our table overlays ;) – I think its absolutely lovely!!Bridesmaid Dress

I fitted the dress again this weekend, and each time I do so, I don’t want to take it off again. Its very close to being finished now – I’m so excited!! The bridesmaid’s dress still has to be made, but I’m not stressing about that really – lol.

I want something really plain and simple, and already got a sample pic for it…

As for my dress – you’re gonna have to wait a bit more than a month before you can see that! I have pics, but I’m not sharing them yet ;)

Which One Shall It Be?

I’ve been having a ‘fight’ with a colleague about who’s the hottest chick -
Nicole Scherzinger or Alizee. I won’t tell you who I picked so that your answers won’t be biased.  So please leave your vote, and let me know who you think is hotter? If you had to pick one of these two chicks…
