What ARE they? They look like Llamas, but much more woolly 
We don’t have animals like these in South Africa – maybe in the zoo, but I haven’t seen them yet. Anyhow, I think they’re very adorable

These are alpacas. They have become quite popular as pets for people who live on horse property of ranches in Southern Calfiornia as well as petting zoos. They don’t spit at humans as much as llamas do. I love their fluttering long eyelashes.

It’s funny that you posted this because just the other day I came across photos of alpacas and exclaimed loudly how much I want one.
