Waterless & Furious
I’m slightly irritated today. Our office has been without water since yesterday, and if you think a power cut was bad, consider not being able to FLUSH your toilets! Even worse, try imagining a whole building full of women, sharing three toilets, and not being able to flush. Its a disaster.
Our company bought mineral water to drink and make coffee with, but still, there’s no way of washing the dishes, washing your hands (after going to the filthy bathrooms), and there’s no way to clean ANYTHING in the office if you spilt something!
I can’t imagine why its taking them so long to fix a burst water pipe. Surely for situations like this there are people who ought to work nightshift to try and fix it? I really don’t understand why it has to take them more than 24hours? I saw the hole they dug, to fix the pipe, but there isn’t even anyone there, working on it?!
On a more positive note, you might not have noticed my new header image, as Kirstyn pointed out, she only saw it this week, and its been up for about a month! Hehehe…
If you still can’t see the bride & groom image on the header, try to refresh my blog with Ctrl+F5.
I was actually looking for a wedding Wordpress theme, but couldn’t find one that appealed to me. Most of them were very old fashioned, and reminded me a bit of a funeral - with the faded roses and all.
Just a reminder, I’ve only got 23 days left before I’m getting married - that just a bit more than 550 hours!

Hello! You don’t know me, but I am Kristyn’s mom. I was looking around in her site and I found this post about the water outage. I felt I had to comment… Recently there was a jr high school built behihd us. During the construction, which took a year…we had many outages of all kinds, not the least of which was the water…for two days!! What I did was go to the grocery store and bought several bottles of the cheapest water I could find…we poured it in the tanks and it allowed the toilets to flush. As far as spills and messes, we used my grandsons baby wipes, and some paper towels to clean. We also got some hand sanitizer for our hands to get rid of the germs. Not ideal, I know, but it did work and made our lives a bit easier. By the way, we had other outtages as well…the power one was the worst for us. They turned off the electricity for 9 hours in the middle of July. We live in the Southern California desert, so that was not a fun day esp w/ a 5 month old baby in the house.
Well, good luck to you and I hope they get your water back on quickly!
argggh…. I can imagine how bad it is when there’s no water to flush the toilets.
Happy Valentine’s Day Danette!
Eeeeew. Oh, how I wish I hadn’t imagined that. But I did. It’s in my head. And before breakfast, at that. lol.
Hello Cheryl
Nice to meet you! I’m relieved that our water is back on at the office, but thank you for sharing your story. It made me realize that I can be thankful that this didn’t happen at home, else I wouldn’t have been able to shower even!! Haha.
Suppose there’s always a bright side to look at
No water! My goodness! I know how that is, we had a burst pipe issue and had no water for a few days here at home, it was quite terrible! I had to go shower at a friends house. lol. Glad to hear the water’s back on!
On another note, I hope you had an awesome Valentine’s Day, Danette. Thanks for the tip on the fondue, it was delicious and we made it together which was really a lot of fun!
